When was your first run with YRC? How did you hear about it?

June 29, 2022 at Allegheny City Brewing. I was at home scrolling through Instagram and found the YRC page. It was perfect timing as I lived down the street and was just getting back into running. The rest is history from there!

What does being a "local, lovable misfit runner" mean to you?

Coming to YRC as I am. I did not really ever consider myself to be a runner until I joined this group. I quickly learned that there is a lot of value in lacing up your shoes and getting out there, especially when YRC is involved. Whether I'm having a good or bad day, fast or slow run, running with this group of misfits helps me to feel like. I'm also not from Pittsburgh so this group has truly made me feel like a true yinzer! The accent is slowly creeping into my everyday language...

What are your non-running hobbies?

Playing trombone is one of my biggest passions and hobbies. I work as a freelance trombonist in the area and currently play in a Chicago Tribute Band. I also love making cocktails, particularly tiki cocktails. You can occasionally catch me behind the bar at Hidden Harbor!

What keeps you coming back to YRC?

The YRC community keeps me coming back! This group has made me feel welcome and loved from my first run with them. As for running in general, I'm completely hooked on the sport. I love following a training plan and seeing my own growth. I love watching new runners enter the sport. I also love watching the ambitious accomplishments of other runners who do things that I can't even imagine doing!
